Hollywood, California, the entertainment capital of the world, is located between Beverly Hills and West Hollywood to the west and the Hollywood freeway (Highway 101) to the east.
Most famous attractions in Hollywood are located along Hollywood Blvd. where, at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, more than 2000 marble stars bearing the names of the most famous entertainment personalities in the world, are embedded into the pavement.
The Chinese Mann Theater, where hand and foot prints of the stars have been embedded into the cement, Ripley's and Wax Museum and the Hollywood Entertainment Museum are also located along Hollywood Blvd.
The famous Hollywood sign is located on the hills north of Hollywood and is not accessible to visitors,. The nearby Griffith Park Observatory however offers spectacular views of the city that have been portrayed in many movies.
