Santa Monica, California is located west of downtown LA on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Santa Monica most famous attraction is the amusement park located at the Santa Monica Pier. Portrayed in numerous movies, the amusement park and the pier are connected by miles of bicycle and jogging trials leading south to Venice Beach and north toward Malibu.

The Third Street Promenade and Santa Monica Place Mall are among the most popular shopping districts in the Los Angeles area. It is also one of the few areas in Los Angeles where strolling the streets is an enjoyable experience.

Santa Monica is convenient to all other LA area attractions, though traffic can be congested at times.
