One block from famous East Beach is the place to experience turn of the century charm at the Old Yacht Club Inn. The Inn opened in 1980 as Santa Barbara's first bed and breakfast and is housed in two historic homes. The original house is a California Mission Craftsman built in 1912 and was used during the roaring 1920'2 as the Santa Barbara Yacht Club. It is the only bed and breakfast in Santa Barbara with a beach location. The Inn was lovingly restored in 1980 and has been completely upgraded over the years with private entrances, decks and balconies. Both homes are comfortably furnished with antiques, Oriental rugs, colorful fabrics and wallpapers that capture the warm hospitality that is the trademark of the innkeepers themselves. All rooms have telephones and private baths, some with whirlpool tubs.
